Privacy Policy

Use and collection of information

The Department of Home Affairs, Government of Australia, contracted CSRA to collect visa applicant and biometric data, provide information in support of Australian visa applications. In order to provide these services, CSRA collects personal information including but not limited to name, date of birth, passport number, Internet Protocol (IP) address, and a variety of other data points. All information collected through this service is captured and stored on secure computer systems pursuant to CSRA’s contract with the Department of Home Affairs.


Interactive Voice Response (IVR) and Call Center Services

All phone calls received by CSRA through phone numbers that support this service are recorded and stored on secure computer systems. Access to phone call recordings is restricted to authorized CSRA and Department of Home Affairs personnel.


Applicant Biometric Collection Center Operations

Applicant Biometric Collection Centers (ABCCs) are in-country CSRA managed facilities used to collect applicant biometric information including but not limited to digital photograph and fingerprints. CSRA collects applicant biometric data using equipment provided and owned by CSRA.

All biometric data collected by CSRA is transmitted directly to the computer systems owned and operated by Department of Home Affairs. CSRA does not have access to any applicant biometric data. CSRA does not retain copies or store any applicant biometric data.

All ABCCs are configured with Closed Circuit TV (CCTV) cameras that record the ABCC proceedings on a daily basis. Signs indicating the same are posted at all ABCCs. Access to video recordings is restricted to authorized CSRA personnel.


Information collection and sharing

All information collected by CSRA in support of this service is transmitted to and retained by Department of Home Affairs. CSRA shares the information you provide with no party other than Department of Home Affairs and CSRA subcontractors and vendors. CSRA, CSRA’s subcontractors, and CSRA vendors may use the information you provide for no other purpose than supporting your visa application through CSRA’s performance of its contract with Department of Home Affairs.


Protection of Information

CSRA takes all reasonable precautions to secure the data collected through this site and to protect such data from loss, misuse or alteration. CSRA maintains reasonable security standards and procedures regarding unauthorized access to electronic information to prevent unauthorized removal or alteration of data.
